Darragh AldrichBiographical NotesDate of birth: December 31, 1884, Richmond, IndianaDate of death: March 31, 1967, Minneapolis, Minnesota Clara Chapline Thomas Aldrich. Writer and radio commentator. Wrote first complete story at age eight. B.A., University of Minnesota, 1900. An editor of the University of Minnesota paper, The Gopher, and occasional contributor to The Minnesota Daily. After graduation taught the classics at St. Mary's Hall in Faribault, Minnesota, for three years. Became a special reporter and columnist of Quentin's Corner, Minneapolis Tribune, 1906-14; radio commentator and head of Women's Activities, WCCO, Minneapolis, 1941-56. Author of novels, short stories, and articles. Her novel Enchanted Hearts, was adapted for the Broadway stage under the title A Prince There Was, and later made into a movie also entitled A Prince There Was. Wrote under pseudonym Darragh Aldrich.
